History

Ranger was founded in February of 1983 by Ken Feasey and Warren Degelman, both seasoned professionals in the insurance industry.  They quickly realized that with hard work and commitment to customers, Ranger could make inroads to the Manitoba insurance market. By instilling those values in their staff, Ranger has quickly grown to be one of Manitoba’s largest insurance brokerages.   

Ranger’s growth has been both organic and through acquisition. Ranger purchased Unicity Insurance and Vandenberghe insurance in the early 1990’s and then focused on organic sales growth until purchasing Flanders Insurance, a large commercial insurance broker, in 2007. The purchase of Flanders Insurance complimented our significant commercial insurance growth over the last number of years and made Ranger one of the largest, and most experienced commercial brokers in Manitoba. In 2009, we acquired Watt Insurance to bring us to where we are today, with 9 locations in Winnipeg and one in Norway House Manitoba. 

We attribute our remarkable growth to our unyielding commitment to building relationships with all stakeholders: with our staff, our business partners, the community and most of all, our clients.
